William A. Cook, PhD Biography

Title:
Professor of English at the University of La Verne, Southern California
Position:
Not Clearly Pro or Con to the question "Is a Two-State Solution (Israel and Palestine) an Acceptable Solution to the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict?"
Reasoning:

“It is the U.N.’s responsibility to address the crisis… Indeed, many of the UNSC [United Nations Security Council] and UNGA [United Nations General Assembly] resolutions call upon Israel to return to the pre-1967 borders and for the Palestinians to recognize the rights of Israelis… The introduction of U.N. forces between the antagonists would be the first step… If the primary causes of this prolonged and agonizing crisis are to be addressed, the nations of the world through the UN must step in and assert control. This effort must begin with all the nations of the world in the General Assembly, then to France and China with the support of the EU and the Arab states in the Security Council.”
