2089 (LXII). Annual report of the Economic Commission for Western Asia
The Economic and Social Council,
Recalling its resolution 2026 (LXI) of 4 August 1976, on assistance to the Palestinian People,
Considering that the full participation of the Palestine Liberation Organization in the Economic Commission for Western Asia would contribute to the purposes and aims of the Commission,
Taking into consideration resolution 36 (IV) of the Economic Commission for Western Asia, 1/
1. Decides to amend paragraph 2 of the terms of reference of the Economic Commission for Western Asia as contained in Council resolution 1818 (LV) of 9 August 1973 to read:
2. The members of the commission shall consist of the States Members of the United Nations situation in Western Asia which used to call on the services of the United Nations Economic and social Office, in Beirut and of the Palestine Liberation Organization. Future applications for membership by Member States shall be decided on by the Council upon the recommendation of the Commission.
2. Requests the Executive Secretary of the commission to take the necessary measures for the early implementation of the present resolution.
