ARCHIVED WEBSITE

This site was archived on Aug. 3, 2021. The two-state solution is no longer the most popular solution among the jurisdictions involved. A reconsideration of the topic is possible in the future.

TIME PERIOD: 1982 – 1982

“The Sinai Peninsula remained in Israeli hands [from 1967] until, in 1979, a peace agreement was signed between Israel and Egypt — the first with any Arab country — under the terms of which peace and normal diplomatic relations were established between the two states and Israeli forces withdrew in agreed stages [completed in 1982] to the old [1920] international frontier between mandatary Palestine and the Kingdom of Egypt.”

Bernard Lewis, The Middle East p. 365, Scribner, 1995
