"The roadmap provides for a comprehensive, two-state solution, the only kind of peace that can endure: a sovereign, democratic and viable Palestine; security guarantees for Israel; and a process that leads to a comprehensive settlement that addresses the Syrian and Lebanese tracks. The roadmap provides for justice and security, bringing together the entire region, from Morocco to Yemen, in a healing process of reconciliation and hope. We must now work together to deliver upon that promise."

"An independent Palestinian state remaines a prerequisite for peace and stability in the region."
Shimon Peres, Israeli President, in a 1998 La Monde Diplomatique editorial titled "Why Israel Needs a Palestinian State," wrote:
"For
Israel to remain a Jewish state, both morally and demographically, it
needs a Palestinian state. Today, 4.7 million Jews and 4 million Arabs
live between the Mediterranean and the River Jordan. Without two
separate states, a binational state will come into being, to the great
frustration of the two peoples."
Benjamin Netanyahu, MSc, Member of the Israeli Knesset, in a Mar. 26, 2003 CNN.com article titled "EU Supports Palestinian Statehood," stated:
"Such a state would be able to raise a
large army, use it without limitations, forge alliances with regimes
that aim to destroy Israel, and serve as a base of increased terrorism
against Israel, and in that way threaten its existence."
Morton Klein, National President of the Zionist Organization of America (ZOA), was quoted in a Mar. 29, 2007 article, posted on IsraelNationalNews.com and titled "Poll: Most Americans Oppose Palestinian State, More Concessions":
"Americans
understand that establishing a Palestinian state would simply result in
but another terrorist state in the Middle East, which is the last thing
America needs in its efforts to bring peace and security to the region.
The American public has shown that it is completely against appeasing
this Palestinian terror regime by offering any more concessions to it."
Yasser Arafat, the late leader of the Palestinian Authority, Palestinian Liberation Organization, and Fatah, said in a May 10, 1996 speech in Stockholm, Sweeden:
"We
plan to eliminate the State of Israel and establish a purely
Palestinian state. We will make life unbearable for Jews by
psychological warfare and population explosion... We Palestinians will
take over everything, including all of Jerusalem."
